2019/20
PROJECTS
This school year as BSD expanded to the rest of high school, we had many hands on deck to help out with all the fundraisers, bake sales, and donations.
We started Term 1 with the Grade 11 Class holding a bake sale and a game booth over the two days of Field Day, and by doing so, raised close to 15,000 Birr. We later had the Grade 9 Class hold a bake sale in November, and a month later having the Grade 10 Class hold another bake sale, and these two bake sales raised around 7,800 Birr altogether.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Term 2 was cut short, but we did have the opportunity to organize one big fundraiser for the entire school which was amazing!
For Valentine’s Day, BSD organized an event where students, teachers, and parents could order roses for their loved ones. We had over 200 applications and over 900 roses were sold that day!
We didn’t have the opportunity to continue holding these fundraisers once school was shut in March, but we did continue keeping in touch with our community through fun games, challenges, 24-hour vlogs, and YouTube videos.
Overall, the money raised through donations, bake sales, and fundraisers were given to Shamida Ethiopia and Cure Hospital. And even with school being cut short, we are proud to announce that during this school year, BSD raised 42,000 ETB!
Thank you to everyone who helped, volunteered, and took the time to make this come true. We couldn’t have done it without you!
